We've just done a large upgrade of the underlying map tile technology in D4H Incident Management. This includes the ESRI ArcGIS map tiles that provide the base map layers for you to visualize your information on geographically.
You'll notice all the satellite imagery has been updated to the most recent available imagery supplied by ESRI ArcGIS. You should notice new campus/facility buildings and construction sites are improved.
Our new vector layers contain much more data and are far crisper to view. For example, check out this gorgeous topographic layer that reveals a ravine hidden under a tree canopy in this city park.
Previously, our maps reached a maximum zoom level much earlier as they would become too pixelated to view. Now we can zoom right down to a single house - enabling you to annotate your incident at a much more accurate level.
We've added new United States Geological Survey (USGS) Topo maps including an combined Imagery & Topo Map and standalone USGS Imagery view. If you're based in wilderness or rural areas in the United States, you'll love these layers. Learn how to turn on new map layers in our Knowledge Base.
Any custom maps added by you are expected to work as usual. Read our Knowledge Base if you'd like a reminder how to add your own custom map layers. Your county may produce its own XYZ format you can add - for example, if you're based in New Zealand, Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) make available some fantastic public data you can subscribe to.
